In Tiébissou, the team collects mosquitoes to assess vector density and transmission indicators, in a randomised controlled trial comparing three types of nets.
The trial compares chlorfenapyr-pyrethroid, PBO-pyrethroid and standard nets on malaria incidence in children aged 6 months to 10 years, its prevalence in the general population and its transmission.
The survey runs from community entry and household informed consent to placing the collectors and supervising captures all night, then debriefing, identifying and storing the mosquitoes for analysis.
